The statute of frauds denies enforcement of a contract for the sale of goods worth more than $500 when no writing evidences the agreement. UCC 2-201. When a contract is modified, U.C.C. § 2-209(3) requires the statute of frauds to be satisfied if the contract as modified falls within the provisions of the statute of frauds.
