Under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1981, ch. 26, par. 1 -- 101 et seq.) a modification of an existing contract 'within this Article needs no consideration to be binding.' (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1981, ch. 26, par. 2 -209(1).)
