Nature Of The Case
This section contains the nature of the case and procedural background.
Facts
Wagenseller's (P) supervisor at Scottsdale Hospital (D1) was Smith (D2). P's relationship with D2 began to deteriorate when P refused to join in a 'mooning' skit during a company camping trip. P was terminated and sued D1 and D2; her nonparticipation in the skit was the reason for her termination. P's action was terminated by summary judgment; an at-will employee could be fired for any reason. The Court of Appeals affirmed. The Arizona Supreme Court granted review.
