Facts

Ds were indicted and proceeded to a forty-seven-day jury trial. The parties proceeded to a forty-seven-day jury trial. The district court allowed the jury to submit questions for the court to pose to the witnesses. Jurors submitted 281 questions, 180 of which were asked by the court. Ds were convicted and appealed.
