Facts

Smith (P) was injured by a meat grinding machine that took off his arm. P claimed the machine was designed defectively and introduced expert testimony from a Davidlee Von Ludwig. D objected to this testimony. It was admitted, and P won a verdict for $60,000. D requested a judgment n.o.v. and was denied. D appealed.
