Facts

The court found that P and D were citizens of Pennsylvania. P had sued D and Volkswagen American Inc. (D) in district court for violations of state law. Ps did this based on diversity jurisdiction. The court ruled that D’s place of business was in York, Pennsylvania. The case was dismissed for lack of jurisdiction. P appealed.
