H and W were married in 1974, and they considered donor insemination in 1976 at H's suggestion. H was present during the consultation and orally consented to the procedure to be performed on his wife. The treating doctor was not aware that H was required to sign a written consent form pursuant to state law. During 1980, W eventually became pregnant, and C was born. At no time during the marriage did H question the conception of the child. The trial court found for W on the issue of support and H appealed.
