Rex v. Chisser T Raym

275, 83 Eng. Rep. 142 (1678)

Facts

Chisser (D) entered the shop of Anne Charteris and asked to see two cravats. Charteris placed both into D’s hands. D asked the price and was told they cost 7s. D offered 3s and immediately ran out of the shop with the cravats and said he would only pay that price. D was caught and tried. The jury found the facts to be true and the court was to decide if the conduct of D was larceny.
