Pfohl v. Pfohl

345 So.2d 371 (1977)

Facts

H and W married, and W was floating in money. It was shown at trial the W had a net worth of $4.25 million and that the parties had shared an extremely high standard of living at first support by W from contributions by her father and thereafter based entirely on her own wealth. H was 37 and in good physical health but with impaired mental health and in possession of $200,000 in assets that he got from his wife during their nine-year marriage. The judge awarded H $30,000 in lump sum alimony and $5,000 per month for 18 months in rehabilitative alimony. Both parties appealed claiming the judge abused his discretion.
