Moses v. Moses

1 Fam. L. Rep. (BNA) 2604 (July 22, 1975) 344 A.2d 912 (1975)

Facts

H and W entered divorce proceedings. W was represented by Fox, an attorney who was a personal friend of the family. Fox allegedly spent 121 hours on the matter.  Most of that was in face to face and phone conversations. W called frequently, at all hours, and they spoke about the divorce as well as personal and professional issues. Fox withdrew based on excessive demands by W. Fox submitted attorney’s fees of $4,842 and expenses of $112.10. The end result for this effort was $275 weekly support for W and her children. The divorce had not been finalized. H billed at $40 per hour. The court ordered H to pay, and H appealed.
