Mcinnis v. A.M.F., Inc.

765 F.2d 240 (1st Cir. 1985)

Facts

McInnis (P) was injured in an auto accident while riding her motorcycle and had her leg amputated. P settled with Florence Poirier for $60,000 out of court. During trial against the remaining parties, D entered evidence of the release signed by Florence to prove that Florence had caused the injuries and bore sole liability to P. P objected to the evidence. The trial judge admitted it as relevant to the issue of causation. P appealed.
