T. was born in 1972 and put up for adoption to her aunt, Mrs. B. (P). The natural mother and niece of P signed a consent to adoption and P filed a petition to adopt. The State Department of Health recommended that the petition be denied. The sole grounds for that denial were the age of petitioners in that P was 54, and Mr. B. was 70. The Department freely admits that except for their age, there are no drawbacks to allowing the adoption. The court agreed with the Department. P appealed.
