Facts

Two teams were playing high school football and a roughing the kicker penalty was not properly accessed. There was a dispute over whether the coaches properly protested the referee's error. The high school filed written protest with the Executive Secretary of the Georgia High School Association and the protest was denied in that no official protest was made to the referee immediately following the play in question. A Hardship Committee approved that decision and once again the decision was approved by the state Executive Committee. The parents of the high school filed suit in Superior Court. The court found an error by the referee and found that it was properly protested and that Ps had a property right in the game of football being played according to the rules. The court then canceled a playoff game between the winner of the game in error and another school and ordered the two teams involved in this fiasco to replay their game from the point of the error. The Georgia High School Association filed a motion for supersedeas, and the trial court's order was suspended pending further order.
