Freedman v. Maryland

380 U.S. 51 (1965) 715

Facts

Freedman (D) sought to show the film Revenge at Daybreak without first submitting the film to the State Board of Censors. Section 2 required such a submittal. Even though the film if submitted would have passed muster, D was still convicted of violating section 2 for not submitting the film in the first instance. The Supreme Court granted certiorari.
