21 L.J.,Q.B., 75 (1851)

Facts

Bridges (P) found an envelope containing bank notes on the floor of Hawkesworth's (D) business premises. P gave the notes to D, requesting that he try to find their true owner. After three years, nobody claimed the notes, and P asked for them back. D refused to deliver them. P filed an action to recover the notes, but the lower court found that D was entitled to them.
