Facts

The Chilean government deported some people and hired Lesley (D) to take them to England. D took the people on his ship and agreed to take them to England. D refused to let some of the people off in Peru and took them to England instead. D also took security measures to make certain that the people would not get away while he was transporting them. D was charged with false imprisonment and convicted. D appealed.
