Facts

Ranson, Appellants (D), spotted Kitner’s, Appellee's (P), dog and mistakenly killed it because they thought it was a wolf. P sued D to recover the value of the dog. The trial court awarded P $50 in damages. D appealed. D argued that he acted in good faith and under the mistaken belief that P's dog was a wolf.
