Nature Of The Case

This section contains the nature of the case and procedural background.

Facts

Defendant Snyder was convicted of possession of a concealable firearm by a convicted felon. Snyder maintained that her attorney told her that her conviction was a misdemeanor. Snyder contended that her mistaken belief that her prior conviction was a misdemeanor negates the criminal intent requirement and is, therefore, a valid defense to the crime which she was convicted.
