Facts

Decedent wrote a letter to his sons in his own handwriting in which he mentioned that the sons were to get his house and some of his money if anything were to happen to him. He signed the letter 'Father.' Decedent died suddenly on the same day that he mailed the letter. The sons offered the letter for probate over the objections of one of the decedent’s heirs at law, and the lower court's order admitted the letter to probate as decedent's will. The heir appealed.
