Facts
P was the owner of a joint life estate in an undivided one-half interest in leased premises. Baker is vested with a life estate in the remaining half. Baker's interest in the rents under the lease and income therefrom was transferred to the Chicago Title and Trust Company. P and the Chicago Title and Trust Company were in effect the lessors of the property and entitled to the amounts due under the lease. The title company was an Illinois corporation over which New York had no jurisdiction. Ds were residents of New York State over whom Illinois had no jurisdiction. Ps brought the action for rent and taxes due but did not join Chicago Title. Ds made a motion to compel Ps to join Chicago Title, and that motion was denied. D appealed.
