Latin. n. Small board, writing tablet, picture, ballot, deed (pl. ), document, letter. A small tablet on which votes were often written. Three tablets were given to the judges; one with the letter 'A' for absolutio, one with 'C' for condemnatio, and one with 'N L' for non liquet, not proven.
