Sharma v. Sharm

667 P.2d 395 (1983)

Facts

Niranjan (H and P) filed for divorce against Mridula (W and D). The divorce was granted, and D appealed contending that dissolving her marriage violated her right to the free exercise of her religion. D informed the court that the Hindu religion does not recognize divorce and that if she returns to India, she will be treated as though she were dead. P disputes the latter contention.
