Salute (P) is a disabled person as defined under 42 U.S.C. ¤3602(h). P was qualified for Section 8 housing. In February of 1993, P visited Stratford Greens (D) in search of an apartment. P was rejected as a tenant on account of his participation in Section 8 housing. P contends that he was not able to locate another suitable apartment within the statutory time period and thus was forced to give up his Section 8 certificate. P sued D alleging violations of federal law related to discrimination against the handicapped. Marie Kravette (P1) moved to amend the complaint to ad herself as a plaintiff and for an injunction requiring Ds to rent to P1. The trial court ruled on these motions.
